I looked the site over......
Simple, fast and free way to send or share files, photos and
videos.
No catch I found. Not a free trial or email sign-up reseller......
The creators make money by selling premium versions of the
site's free services. So - no sign up. No registration.
Drop.io ( pronounced drop-ee-oh ) officially launched last week
and allows anyone to set up an instant online file drop for up
to 100 MB - available for viewing or download by anyone you
"share" or give the address to.
"Drops" can be all-access or password protected - and can be
set to "self destruct" or live up to a year. Drops can be fully
collaborative ( people could add to or comment ) or they can
be "read-only".
Not the best choice if you're looking to archive a ton of files
online. Other sites like Xdrive.com, Driveway.com and
MediaMax.com offer from 2GB to 25GB free online - although
with Drop.io - you can create as many drops as you want.
Seems faster and easier - and has some nice touches like
auto converting video files to play in your web browser.
And...................
The site has no ads - or pop-ups that must be viewed before
downloading or viewing a file.
Adobe Flash Player required................FYI
