As Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign sputters and stumbles, her husband's rhetoric on her behalf is more over-the-top than ever.
Last week, on a campaign stop in New Hampshire, Bill Clinton made the statement that his wife is "a world-class genius in making positive changes in other people's lives."
"The reason she ought to be president, over and above her vision and her plans is that she has proved in every position she has ever had in life, whether it was in elected office or not, that she is a world-class genius in making positive changes in other people's lives."
He said it.
Read it for yourself right here news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071221/ap_on_el_pr/bill_clinton , if you don't believe me.
What amazes me about this comment is the way Bill Clinton qualifies his wife's genius. She's not a genius at changing her own life. She's a genius at changing other people's lives.
This is the key to understanding Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and every other politician who thinks like them.
They may be the most corrupt, unhappy, unsatisfied, miserable, power-mad, ambitious, immoral people in public life. But they don't seek to change themselves. Their genius is in manipulating others, forcing them to change their ways.
Neither of these people have ever lifted a finger to help someone around them who was in trouble, in crisis. They wouldn't give a dime of their own money to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, nurse the sick. What they will do is use those perpetual needs in any society as means to empower themselves.
They will gladly spend your money – the more the better – and claim credit for being compassionate.
What I would like to ask Bill Clinton, if I had the chance, would be for him to name just one person whose life has been changed for the better by his wife's genius.
I don't think he could do it.
After all, if she were a genius at changing other people's lives for the better, wouldn't she have worked that magic on her no-good, puffed-up, ego-maniacal, lying, serial-adulterer husband?
She hasn't been able to change him any more than he could change her. And, neither one of them has been able change himself or herself.
But, of course, Bill Clinton made no such claim about Hillary. He didn't say she could or would change anything about herself. Her genius is in changing others – all for the benefit of herself.
I just never expected such candor from Bill Clinton. It proves the old adage that even a broken clock is right twice a day.
As far as specifics, here's what Bill Clinton cited in making the case for his wife's genius:
Her work for the Children's Defense Fund: This proves my point. The CDF is nothing but an effort to use the plight of poor children to confiscate and redistribute other people's wealth. It is a socialist organization that ignores the real cause of most child poverty – a behavior called having children out of wedlock. The real test is: Were any kids actually helped by her work? Names, please.
Her efforts to improve education in Arkansas: I don't doubt she made "efforts" in that direction. But results are what counts. I see Arkansas public school student rank below the abysmally low national average for math, reading and science scores. Were any kids helped? Name, please.
Her work in the U.S. Senate: This is pretty broad. But her experience has also provided many opportunities to help some Americans. I'm looking for names. Does anyone want to come forth and tell me how Hillary Rodham Clinton selflessly, and with her own good advice, financial resources, leadership, etc., helped you?
Bill Clinton correctly labeled his wife "an agent of change." She has been, since her earliest years in college, a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist activist. Changing others is what it's all about for Hillary. As for herself, she hasn't changed a bit.
Just in case you missed it the first time Bill Clinton explained what she's all about, he rephrased his endorsement of his wife this way: "She's got the right vision, big plans and a proven ability to change lives for the better. Experience and change are only opposed in values if you're so experienced you don't have any energy left and you can't cut it, or if your experience is in fighting change. But if you know how to do things, and you prove it over a long time that you can make change in other people's lives, I think that is a pretty strong recommendation."
Actually, no. It is a reason to avoid people like the Clintons as you would avoid drug-resistant staph infections.
