I'm in the metro Detroit area. Snowed on and off all day. Did not stick to the ground. Leaves are still green on good portions of the trees. Strange to see the white stuff with a green background.

It's arrived early...ski season that is. Heading up with a friend in a few minutes. Arapahoe Basin is opening today. Earliest and first records for a ski resort on opening. Renting skis for today rather than use mine as I don't want to gouge the base on my skis, that's usually what happens early in the season!!

We need snowpack for irrigation, the skiers and fire suppression. We got a smattering about a month ago but it got up to 73' yesterday so we'll see. I like the seasons fall colors, and white snowcap mountains in the winter. We had some bad fires this summer so I hope we do get some.
The farmers almanac says we're in for a warmer mild winter around here. I hope it's wrong.
