My wife and I are going to Door County WI on Sat for a week of vacation. (Wife's Idea). Has anyone out there been there and liked it? Any recommendations on what to do there?

I grew up near Door County. In all the years I lived there, never went until after I moved away.
It is much like the rest of Wisconsin, except that with the water all around, it's cooler in summer.
Depends on what you like, there's antique shops, galore. We went to a fish boil at which I was massively underwhelmed.
We stayed at one of the state parks and thoroughly enjoyed hiking and the vistas provided by nature.

The wife and were just there last weekend. One thing I highly recommend is take in a show at "The Peninsula Players". They close for the season on Oct. 15 if I remember right, well worth the money. Its just south of Fish Creek. We have been there twice now,the first was on a whim, the second we planned the weekend around it. www.peninsulaplayers.com/Also take a drive through Peninsula State Park, beautiful. Matt

Make sure you partake of a fish boil up on the pennisula. They put on a show by boiling in a big pot outside, fish, vegetables and potatoes. Then at the end throw some kerosene on the fire to boil off all the silt. It's a huge fireball, really .
