Working today protecting life, property and the environment. I am Capt at Fire Dept in S. Fla. We've been pretty busy this am with medical. Some grinch this morning was complaining that she did not like the smell of a neighbors BBQ. What a mona! At least we have not had any calls dealing with Weapons of Mass Destruction. (We are the special tactics team and a Florida Disaster Resopnse Team) Merry Christmas to all and a Healthy, Safe and Prosperous New Year GL2A GE

Well Merry Christmas to you hard working Firefighters out there - Coincidently as I was driving to work I saw a convoy today of a hook and ladder, a pumper truck and ambulance headed somewhere... I said a quick prayer for those who may be involved in trajedy this Christmas as well as those firemen out there. So thanks for being there for us civilians!!!

Working update - We pulled an unconscious elderly lady out of a small apartment fire this afternoon. She began breathing on her own after giving her some breaths from a BVM. She was still unconscious when the rescue transported her to the hospital. Hopefully she will live to see another Christmas. This is what makes it all worthwhile. GL2A GE

I worked thru the night. Got off at 0700. It was a very quiet night for the police/paramedics/fire in my area. I am the dispatcher.

My brother retired from a fire department in a town of about 30,000 after around 25 years. He was an EMT and Firefighter. He had some stories to tell. He had a few close calls fighting fires. I admire all our servicemen/women, and public servants that keep us safe. You deserve the BEST and more. Not easy on the family either. You are all in my prayers during this season and always.
