Thanks, seagull. I've only been asked for those numbers a couple of times when I made a telephone purchase. TOld them the numbers were worn off...LOL When they said they had to have them, I said, "cancel the purchase"...LOL It went thru without those numbers...LOL
Don't have that problem now. No credit cards. I gave them up when I made the decision to retire...LOL

I was the victim of Idenity Thief on August 21.. A person opened up credit card accounts in my name and used the cards to get nearly 8,000.00 in cash from ATM's.
After some investigation by the Police Department, they caught the guy and he confessed to everything.. However, I am still going through it with the credit card company.. They still want me to pay the payments.. My Lawyer has talked to them, the Arresting Police Officer has spoked with them, I've spoken with them many times.. They still will not accept them as being fraudulent charges.. So it is a mess.. I had nearly perfect credit.. Sometimes, I think that is a bad thing, that is why these people can get credit in a person's name so easily. However, now the credit card company is putting this against my credit as missing payments.
It looks like that I'm going to have to take the credit card company to court.. The company is Washington Mutual. If you have a card with them I would think about transferring your balance to a different card with zero percent interest.. They appear to be scam artists themself.
My Attorney is trying to get hold of their legal department, and he is told that they have a legal department however the legal department doesn't use telephones. You have to go through the fraud department.. So, they have been giving all of us the run around since Aug 21..
