Sea, I don't know what you exactly mean by your "recovery," but if it's a foot-related situation, you may want to stop in at a Good Feet Store if one's close by. I've personally heard great things about this place. www.goodfeet.com/

This is interesting. We had a meeting in our home tonight for the health products we distribute and a man had some of these shoes on and he talked about how it helped his balance and his knees. He is real tall and weights over 300 lbs. They are funny looking but he swears they make a big difference in his balance. seagull, hope you find a solution to your problems.

thanks for the input... santasi, since it has been 9 months + now, I want some kind of sports shoe... those sound like they would have been great earlier when it was more swollen and painful... are they sports shoes? or for the earlier stages of recouperating? TIA Integrity... balance is a bit of a problem... and my knees were injured too... so those sound interesting- thanks again Seagull, Not shoes. It is a new technology, nano technology, for circulation problems. Good for sports injuries and diabetics. My friend is a textile expert and her husband used these products (socks, sheets, ankle brace, etc.) when he broke bones in both his feet in a fall. He daughter also used them for sports training. I have the body pillow (got it from Amazon) and it helps with circulation in my feet and legs. If you are still experiencing problems these products might help. Santasi

Seagull,
Although they are fairly pricey, I have a pair of Asics GEL-Kayano XII's - amazing technology in these shoes. They are awesome running shoes (although I have been slacking lately). If I could afford them, I would get a pair just to kick around in. I have been shocked at how comfortable they are...
We have a Luke's Locker here in North Texas and they are really good. They custom fit your feet and have you run on a treadmill with the different shoes on and everything. I was truly impressed.

I have wondered about alot of you Texas folks, Integrity (where you live, I mean ). I live in Bedford, right in between Dallas and Fort Worth, about 15 minutes from DFW airport. I have been to the Sherman - Denison area before. I saw another person on this board (or Millionaires?) who lives in Weatherford. Of course, TexasPride lives in this area.

wow! thanks Nandi! didn't find the price... do you know the range? do you have some? I see they are made near you TIA I would not consider owning the Z-Coil myself. I prefer the negative heel shoe to any brand that jacks my heel above its properly evolved level of function; throwing off my balance and posture. It is a personal preference. You may wish to look into this style: www.earth.us/comfort.aspTo be fair to the Z-Coil technology and its inventor, I have yet to meet anyone who wears the shoe - and I have met and spoke with many folks who do wear the contraption - to have anything but good things to say about it and the effects it offers. n

Sea,
I was a doctor for 20 years and tore both my right and left meniscus at different times some years back. I was a runner all my life until then. I never had surgery because to many that have, have needed multiple surgeries after. I just kept supports on my knees for months until the meniscus healed. Most people are in a hurry and get the surgery right away but I wanted to wait.
I've been wanting to get back into running for some time now but couldn't for fear of re injuries so I decided to do some research because I knew of many people who had returned after injuries. I started with Dr. Kenneth Cooper's Clinic in Dallas, TX. Dr. cooper is the "Father of Running" in America and his first book was The Aerobics Way about 28 - 30 yrs ago. His institute also is where every astronaut is checked out for their physical condition and capabilities.
What I found was that there are "rung specialty stores" in most large cities where they do like Integrity said. They study your arches, shape of your feet and put you on a treadmill where they video your gait which is called a "gait analysis. They then show you on the monitor what your gait is like with different types of shoes and supports. Once they figure out what type of fit you need they simply pick several brands that will work best for your individual problems and the final step is to simply try on different styles for comfort...I was amazed at the science behind running shoes now and I've had no knee problems this time around...
Also, they will instruct you on how to get back to the activity level you want to be at in the safest way if you ask...
Hope this helps...

Oh , you will spend a little more money but believe me...it will be worth it when you Know that you are not guessing about wearing the right shoe that will not create more problems...that many times we don't even know about for months after using the wrong thing.
