100 years! What a blessed life she must have had and an obvious blessing to you and your family. I imagine you could talk with her for hours about all she has experienced. Our prayers are with you, Fire. May God give you peace during this difficult time. pr

FF..she lives in your heart and in your actions. Carry on with all she has taught, and pass it on to others so her legacy lives on forever.
Peace.

Fire,
I am saddened by the loss of your grandmother. God keeps "special" people on this earth this long to help others learn. Your grandmother must have been a wonderful teacher. She is guaranteed safe passage of her soul to the Almighty. The loss is tremendous for those whom love them, and have had the privilege of knowing them.
My grandmother lived to be over 104 and in very good health -- four hours of prayers a day -- it worked for her.
I will keep you and yours in my prayers.

Fire, Your Grandma, sounds like a wonderful person. You have my sympathy. That is a wonderful generation ! Whenever I hear the song "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" I think of my Grandmother and how much influence she had on me. God Bless. My grandmother passed away late tonight, just 1 month and 17 days shy of her 100th birthday. Grandma was a person who was full of life. A person I could look up too and always count on. A woman who helped raise my 5 siblings and I. She will forever be in my heart and may she be in a better place. FIRE P.S. Please excuse my absence from the boards for the upcoming days.

i am so sorry to hear of your loss...i grew up next door to my grandmother and she was very much a part of my day to day upbringing, i think those of us who are blessed with closness to family members of other generations are truly fortunate...it is great to have the perspective on life from days gone by...there are things we can learn, things that should not slip away...her generation was a very special generation and i know she's a very special person.
what a wonderful thing to get to live so long, but for those of us left behind it is never long enough...we would always take one more day, one more hug, one more smile, one more wink...i know you will be comforted by the many memories you shared with your grandmother...i still feel like my grandmother is with me every day...yours will be with you too.
you have probably read my poem on dying before, but just in case you haven't, this time it is especially for your grandmother! i hope peace and memories flood your heart and soon wash away the grief!
THERE IS NO DEATH
I am standing on the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch her until at length she is a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, "There! She's gone!" Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and she is just as able to bear her load of living weight to her destined harbor.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There! She's gone!" There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "There she comes!"
And that is dying.
God bless you and your family, fire...you will be in my thoughts and prayers
