I returned a bit ago from a truly emotional event. Today was the day we finally gave the Vietnam Vets their well-deserved, and much-belated, welcome home. It's called "Operation Welcome Home."
I was at the Veterans Day Parade (2 of my sons were in it--a Cub Scout and a JROTC Cadet)--we never miss the Veteran's Day Parade here in Vegas.
The parade started with the Mayor, followed by hundreds of Vietnam veterans from different groups, from all over the country. My hands are raw from applauding.
As they marched by, I noticed the tears...the tears in my eyes and theirs. To see a "Jar-head Marine" marching by, wiping away tears, is truly inspirational. I will never forget today's experience; it was honestly a significant emotional event.
I thanked them today and I also want to thank all who are here--thank you for all you sacrificed and if you haven't received this message before--WELCOME HOME--WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
My very best to all my fellow veterans, and my prayers are for you and your families tonight. Let's also remember those who aren't here to receive the applause...
Bo (CMSgt (ret), USAF, 22 years)

Thanks to all of you men and women of the armed forces. Thanks to the family members that sacrificed their lives. God Bless us all and let us all be reminded what it is our country still stands for.
