Thank you to all of the men and women of our US Armed Forces both past and present!
Thank you and your families for all your services, efforts, and sacrifices and especially for those who made the Supreme Sacrifice.
You are what makes our country great. You are what makes our country what it is today and that is "FREE"!
Please know in your heart that you have not, will not, and you won't ever be forgotten!
Everything that you have done and do is appreciated more than you could ever know.
I would like to wish you all a very Honorable Veterans Day!
Mike

As one who played a very small role looking for Soviet submarines during the Viet Nam era, I would just like to say thank YOU for recognizing the roles and sacrifices of those who did and gave so much.
Originally, this day was set aside to mark the end of the "war to end all wars" (WW1). We can all see how far that optimism went. Armistice Day can no longer be thought of as commemorating the war to end all wars.
But in commemorating all of those who sacrificed their time, safety and often times their lives, we can collectively hope and pray that someday, we'll be able to finally say, we CAN have a day to celebrate the end of the REAL "war to end all wars".
From this DAV to all you other vets, I'm proud to be a part of your group. If you get a chance, visit a vet in the VA hospital near you. There are some who have nobody..and we all owe them so much. (they also have incredible stories to tell too)

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN,
who salutes the Flag,
It is the veteran,
who serves under the Flag,
ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.
I don't know if you saw this in the news but it really impressed me. Funny, our US Senate/House took 2 days off as they couldn't work because of the expected storm.
On the ABC evening news, it was reported tonight that, because of the dangers from Hurricane Isabelle approaching Washington DC, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment. They respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!"
Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a serviceperson.
The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.
We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.
God Bless them.

Thank You to all of our Vets. Whether in wartime or Peace, you have helped us remain a strong, free Nation and we ALL owe you a debt we can never repay. To all those who think they owe the Military folks nothing,,, it is because of those Military folks that you are free to think that way --so maybe you should reconsider. Sincerely,,,Matt AKA: SVT-COBRA

Thank you to all my fellow Veterans! I really liked the suggestion of visiting a Vet in one of the Many run-down Dilapitated VA hospitals that we have scattered around the Country...(Cause you all know how the Government treats it veterans). I personally served to honor and protect the PEOPLE of this Country. As far as the Government goes...To quote an infamous cerebral reporter of the obvious (that to most isn't all that obvious).
The Government and the politicians are only there to give the illusion of Choice. The REAL owners of the country are the Corporate scumbags.
- George Carlin Nov/2005
The people in the country are what is worth fighting for. I commend all my fellow Brother, and Sister veterans that have fought to protect the PEOPLE of this great country.
The Government can go ..... (well you get the idea)

yes a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all current and past troops.
When you see a troop at the airport, take a moment and personally thank them for their sacrifice.
The 1st time I did this I witnessed the soldier saying his good byes to his wife and infant daughter.
after he departed from them,I went up to him and thanked him.
I was alittle embarassed at first, but after seeing his very positive reaction,I knew I had done the right thing.
